William Wallace Would Be Proud - The Paul Mort Podcast

William Wallace Would Be Proud

January 4, 2018

Have you ever seen the film ‘Braveheart’?

If so, you’ll no doubt remember the ‘freedom’ speech that Mel Gibson’s character delivered to his army…

Just before he led them into battle against the English

Powerful sh*t, I’m sure you’ll agree

Historical inaccuracies aside…

(And despite the fact that Mel Gibson seems more than a little bit ‘crazy’)

I like to do my very own impression of ‘William Wallace’, every single Wednesday

But instead of painting one half of my face blue and wearing a kilt?

I have what I like to call a ‘Free Day’

Which essentially, is a day off of work to do whatever the hell I want

With no phone, and no interruptions

Yesterday?

Despite the fact that I’ve just returned from a two week break…

I had my first ‘Free Day’ of the year

Some people might view that as me being lazy

But the truth is?

What other people think of me is NONE of my business

And I know my energy levels better than ‘some people’

Which is why I have systems and structures in place, that allow me to manage my energy more efficiently

So that I can produce my BEST work, in less time than EVER before

‘Some people’ might prefer to hustle 24/7

And spend all of their ‘free’ time engaging with people in FREE Facebook groups

But for me?

That’s a no-go

I value my time way too much to do that

And that’s why I value the FREEDOM that I’ve created for myself

(Despite running two VERY successful businesses)

My advice to you today?

Embrace hard work, amigo

Because you don’t get anywhere in life without it

But at the same time?

Don’t sacrifice your freedom

Money comes and goes

But TIME?

You’ll NEVER be able to get that back
